Application Process

For Prospective Early Education Program Families

We invite the family of any in-district child aged 3, 4, or turning 5 between 9/1/2026 and 12/31/2026, who is interested in having their child participate in the Early Education Program at Griswold Elementary School to complete an application to join our program. This application includes two financial forms. Families must complete an application to be included in the lottery for placement in the program. Completion of the application form does not guarantee placement.

The deadline for 2026-2027 applications is April 10, 2026.

The GEEP Application Packet includes the following three forms. The GEEP Application, the Income Verification Form, and the Grant Funded Slot Form.

Complete the application form and return to Sarah Guillet in the Griswold Public Schools Central Office. You may print and return in-person, digitally via email to GPSRegistration@griswoldpublicschools.org, or Fax to (860) 376-7631.

The GPS Central Office is located in the middle school building at 211 Slater Avenue, Griswold, CT 06351. Please use the entrance on the north (playground) side of the building, accessible from the one-way loop on Slater Avenue in front of the school’s original facade.

Completion of the application form does not guarantee placement.

After an application is complete, please request a developmental screening appointment for your child. At the screening, you will be able to meet and ask questions to the Griswold Early Education Program, Little Log Schoolhouse, and TVCCA Little Learners programs available to Griswold and Jewett City children. Learn more here.

If the number of applications exceeds the number of available slots, a lottery system will be utilized.  When slots are full, children will be placed on a waitlist.  Families of the children on the waitlist will be contacted should a slot become available. 

Timeline:
  • March 20 & April 10, 2026: Developmental Screenings take place (registration required)
  • April 10, 2026: Application Deadline. Send your completed application and financial forms to GPSRegistration@griswoldpublicschools.org.
  • May 1, 2026: Families will be notified of placement in the Program or on the waitlist
  • May 15, 2026: Families notified of a placement will need to complete all registration paperwork by May 15, 2026, or your child's slot in the Program may be given to another child. Information on the GEEP Registration can be found here, but registration packets will be provided to you.
